Farzified with the Molecular Twist in Gurugram!

Indian food much known globally for its straight and robust flavours, gets a bistro twist and a relaxed makeover at Farzi. Thanks to the molecular gastronomy which has taken the culinary possibilities to a different horizon. Here at Farzi, spherification, use of liquid nitrogen, knowing the viscocity, surface tension of ingredients to create culinary wonders is not new, and to all those who are raising their brows quizzically, this is no chemistry lab!
This Cafe in Gurugram with its clever, classy, stunning decor, with wooden panelling, stage all set for scintillating performances, seemingly boundless bar, adds to the ‘oomph’ factor.
‘Farzi does it all’... visibly a herculean task to stick to our traditional roots, yet transforming the experience into a surprising burst of flavours and sensory experience. This joint believes in emblazoning the Indian cuisine by revamping it to global standards and also introducing high-level gourmet for our evolved taste buds and insatiable palates. Finger food, small portions of delicacies, appetizers all served in ‘Tapas style’- originated in rural Spanish taverns – are easy to relish with a drink or two.
The bold Indian flavours tweaked with global cuisines is set to leave you ‘finger licking’. The Chilli Pork Ribs, cooked in perfection bathed in a Kashmiri Rista, effortlessy falls off the bones, Chilli Duck Samosa, plunged in a plum chutney, Posh Magi with a fatty duck lever are all eternal sins, leaving you yearning for more.
If all you vegetarians are wondering what can wake you up from the limbo of a conventional dish like dal and chawal, you are in for a shocker christened, ‘Dal chawal arancini’ paired with aachar, papad and chutney. The Karela Calamari doused in a sweet and sour mango chutney is a tangy tribute. The Vada Pao ‘Inside-Out’ accompanied by a typical Maharashtrian Lehsuni chutney, will smack you in and out to its literal sense. The interestingly named, Bombay Bhel version 2.0 is a surprise package one ought to try. Farzi burgers and buns ranging from a high tech veggie burger, Delhi’s favourite Gupta burger to a butter chicken bun should be tried and savoured one at a time.
With almost all seams in the attire stretching and pleading the mind has its own way of wanting more... “the dessert”. When Phirni Oxide sounded fun and intriguing, Bailey’s Lollipop was barely irresistible. The Nasik oranges and Kafir Lime Aire is a ‘must-try’ delicacy - so light, ethereal and a complete surrender.
As the son of the famous culinary writer and celebrity chef, Zorawar Kalra candidly puts it , “As long as you are serving great food in a great ambience at good prices, consumers will keep coming”.
Enjoy the delicious Phirni Oxide (left) and Burger (right).
In all, there is always a tomorrow, the ambience, gastronomical food, a never ending menu, which will make Farzi a favourite ‘Haunt’.
